protonica are piet kaempfer and ralf dietze from berlin (germany). in 2003 they got together for the first time at the radio show "waschmaschine“ which was presented by ralf. some weeks later piet sended few tracks he made in the past to him. ralle was producing on his own for some years too and liked his kind of music. thus they decided to meet each other again and tried out how they can work together. protonica was born as they finished their first common track called 'orion sleepers' in 2004. the music of protonica is a combination of ralle's feeling for groove and piet's intuition for harmonies.
since 1995 ralf dietze aka ralle aus halle has been played at many events (e.g. voov experience, zoom, fusion festival, indian spirit, wonderland, lovefield...) and in several countries like denmark, switzerland, austria, the netherlands, poland - just to name few. furthermore he was working as a decorator, promotor and booking agent at "sehnsedahastes" from 1997 to 2004. in 2005 he started to work as a label dj at agitato records.
piet kaempfer was introduced to music within a young age. playing the piano first his interests shifted to synthesizers when he was 14 years old. in 1999 he discovered psy-trance. this style of music gave him new inspiration and fresh dj-mixes and first tracks followed. since then piet played as a dj (piet @ protonica) both at small and big parties worldwide. his current dj sets are strongly influenced by progressive house and progressive trance.
